The Black Staff Caucus (BSC) invites you to walk along the Black Heritage Trail® in Boston. This is a private tour for BSC led by a National Park Service (NPS) Ranger.

The Black Heritage Trail® immerses participants into the history of the Black community that lived in the Beacon Hill neighborhood around the time of the American Civil War. The NPS ranger will describe the social justice issues this community faced from the abolition of slavery to equity in education and being integral to the Underground Railroad effort.

The tour is 90 minutes walking a distance of ~1.5 miles with frequent stops at historic landmarks. Some parts of the trail have not been restored recently and may be problematic for those concerned with accessibility. Wear some Harvard gear so the ancestors can see a bit of what their sacrifices made possible.
